I Can Tell It!

Dear partners!

Today I will be talking about my experience in “I Can Tell It”. “ I Can Tell it” was an activity in which involves children of 2nd primary education of the school “ Daoiz y Velarde” in Alcala de Henares, students of Bilingual Primary Education , classics books and ICT.

My partners and I worked on different tittles of classics fairy tales s as “HERCULES, CINDERELLA, ALICE AND WONDERLAND, ALADIN, THE THREE LITTLE PIGS and SNOWHITE.

I participated on Hercules fairy tale and it was a very exciting moment, I mean, the days before ,my group (Laura Caldas, Cristina Cano, Marta Henche, Dani Hernandez, Cristina Moneva and Isabel Prior) and I spent hours doing the activities and the costumes, creating a ppt with the Hercules story, drawing, cutting and pasting, later while we were decorating the classroom we were very nervous. We did not know how children react to our welcome, our activities and our characters but fortunately everything was well.
We created three different activities. First of all we welcomed children with a dance like this

. Isabel, Marta Henche and I were a Infraworld ladies and Laura, Cris Cano and Cris Moneva was the Olympus muses. We danced one of the most important songs on Hercules Disney films. Later when the children came in we divided them in two groups one of them went to the Olympus and the cother for the Infraworld. In the Olympus children had to complete a labyrint with their eyes close and at the end of it they had to caught a big part of the Hercules body and pasted on the blackboard in order to complete the puzzle. The other activity consisted on crossed a tunel, build it with tables and covered with a black cloth and when the children arrived to the end of the tunnel the had to brought a piece of a sentence when they had all the pieces they had to complete the sentence.

To conclude the activity the kids have to complete de Hercules reading creating them a drawing whith the whiteboard with the end of the story.

To change to another tale we gave them a Hero medal. We spent a nice time together. One of the best times that I have lived at university.

Thank you!!!!

  1. Hello Andrea :)

    How are you?

Well, I really want to comment this part of the blog, because unfortunately, I could not see your "I can tell it".

As you know, this day was amazing and we had a really good time together and with children.
It is true that we had to work very hard to get our objectives and to be satisfied with our job.

I have been watching the videos and I have to say that I really love them! Your job was incredible!

In the photos and in the videos I can see that you were working very hard but I think that too much work was the best thing you could do because the result would be amazing.

The last thing I just want to say is that you must work as hard as you are working because you have a lot of passion with the things you do, so go on :)

    Great job Andrea!!

    Bye!

  2. Hi Andrea! :)

I love your post and I also loved our working day developing the different workshops with children.

I was in Cinderella's workshop and we were also afraid with children's reaction but fortunatelly we all had luck and all worked well with them! :D

During the break I decided to go to visit all the workshops. I enjoyed watching them. Your one was incredible! I saw you did a lot of work preparing things and you thought in everything! I mean, you prepared fantastic clothes, a wonderful class environment and you told me the activities and in my opinion they are indreible too!

I have the feeling that children had a good time and they learnt a lot of fairy tales!

Keep on working as you are doing Andrea! :)

    Ester (:
